Kate Garraway returns to Good Morning Britain after fans notice absence show

Kate Garraway finally returning to screens on Good Morning Britain today.

The presenter returned to the ITV show last week as her husband Derek Draper remains in intensive care after his coronavirus battle.

However, she only presented Monday and Tuesday – and was missing on the show from Wednesday onwards.

Instead she was replaced by GMB star Charlotte Hawkins that day, who sat alongside Ben Shephard.

Fans noticed Kate’s absence at the time, with one writing: “So disappointed when I got up this morning and Kate was not presenting breakfast TV. She has done really well to do two days but we miss you Kate. It’s not the same without you.”

Kate’s return comes as she held a garden party to celebrate son Billy’s 11th birthday at the weekend.

The star said showbiz pal Myleene Klass had helped her organise the event for her son.

Kate shared photos from the party on Instagram as she told fans: “So I was super nervous about Bill’s birthday this year – we usually have a family do with grandparents and a few of his friends but obviously this not possible.

“So we are seeing grandparents separately but wanted to do something for him & his mates in the garden.

“Derek is so brilliant at this, organising treasure hunts and boys own adventures so mentioned to @myleeneklass really didn’t want to let Bill down and did she know anyone with a tent we could borrow in case it was wet. Little did I know what I was unleashing!”

She added: “She is in her element! At 8.30 this morning she arrived with Apollo in tow to supervise the brilliant @sleepyteepeeuk to set up the most amazing jungle camp ever!!!”

Kate’s husband Derek is now out of his coma following his coronavirus battle but his condition still remains critical.
