Lord Alan Sugar has been met with backlash after he posted a tweet about Ian Wright’s suit during his appearance on the BBC.
The Apprentice star had been watching the Arsenal v Chelsea football match but couldn’t help commenting on Ian’s suit.
The 73-year-old tweeted to his 5.3million followers: “That is one hell of a suit Ian Wright has on. A bit too dark don’t you think? He could be in camouflage on a beach.”
Ian, 56, was wearing a loose-fitted camel-coloured suit with a black open-collared shirt underneath.
Lord Sugar’s followers were quick to hit out at the tweet with people slamming him for his words.

One said: “This is incredibly misjudged. And if I’m honest, it’s out of order. I used to look up to you.”
Another wrote: “This is wrong Sir Alan on so many levels.”
While someone else said: “Have you honestly said this… Jesus wept.”
However other people attempted to defend the businessman and shared a screenshot of the screen which showed Ian’s suit, trying to explain the joke.

One of them said: “The suit is sand colour, what’s racist about that?”
And a second tweeted: “I hadn’t seen the suit Ian Wright was wearing. Turned on the TV and now understood the joke. Suit is close to the same colour as sand. Not a racist joke as I initially thought. Context really is everything.”
Lord Sugar responded too and said: “Why don’t the trolls shut the f*** up. I am having a laugh with my mate Ian with his bright suit. The scum bags want to cause trouble and turn everything into racism. They make me sick. Go to hell.”
But some people still weren’t having it, picking up on the specific wording of the tweet.
One said: “What was the ‘a bit too dark’ sentence about? Too dark for what? Although yet it’s about the suit being sand coloured, he purposefully made the tweet ambiguous to antagonise people. Don’t be dense.”
As of yet, Ian hasn’t tweeted about the situation.
