Good Morning Britain star Piers Morgan has put himself forward to serve the country after Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed he’s tested positive for coronavirus.
The outspoken TV presenter, 54, has taken to Twitter to share a snap of himself and co-star Susanna Reid outside 10 Downing Street.
Piers was one of the first celebrities to offer his support to the PM after Mr Johnson shared a video online to confirm he is suffering from symptoms of the killer bug.
Writing on Twitter, Piers said: “Boris Johnson has tested positive for coronavirus. Now self-isolating at No10, but will still handle Govt. handling of crisis.
“Wish him well, and also wish he gets our NHS health workers the same test – fast.”
Getting a bit more light-hearted, Piers then joked he was “ready to serve” as PM.
The announcement from Piers left fans divided with some of the star’s followers in agreement that he is in fact ready to run the country.
In response to Piers’ tweet, one fan penned:
A second commented: “Cannot believe I’m saying this but it might be the best thing that can happen, you seem to have the people of Britain’s best interests at heart x”

Piers’ family have also taken to social media to encourage the former newspaper editor to take over as the British Prime Minister.
Spencer Morgan tweeted: “Time to step up” and tagged his father.
Fans will have to wait and see if Piers is back on GMB on Monday or if he’s too busy running the country from inside Number 10.
