Piers Morgan red-faced on GMB as camera catches him fiddling with his trousers

Piers Morgan suffered a major wardrobe mishap on Good Morning Britain today.

The 55-year-old outspoken host was caught tucking himself in live on the ITV breakfast show as he fumed at new weatherman Des Coleman for making him rush into the studio.

Piers stood behind the des adjusting his suit jacket and arranging his mic as co-stars Susanna Reid and Charlotte Hawkins watched on with a baffled look on their faces.

The presenter told viewers: “Sorry, running a bit late today.”

When his colleagues asked what he was doing, Piers slammed weatherman Des for finishing his report early and leaving him in a tight squeeze.

The former newspaper editor vented: “”What’s the name of the new weather guy? Where is he? Rule one mate, you don’t end early.

“If I’m in makeup being beautified, you do not end early.”

Recalling the moment he was told things were running ahead of schedule, Piers said: “I went ‘what, why’s that? Keep talking about the weather.”

Susanna leapt to Des’s defence, telling her co-star: “I have to say, do not blame the weather presenter.

“It’s his first day. It is not his fault. The camera shot froze.”

A grinning Des wasn’t fazed, replying: “Susanna, I love you, and Piers, it’s my first day and you can’t even cut a good looking young guy a break.

Piers said: “So far all I’ve heard you do is call yourself good looking.

“People who go on about how good looking they are tend to be speaking too much.”

He then poked fun at Des’s acting past, asking: “Don’t I know you from EastEnders? What are you doing the weather for?”

Des appeared in the soap as Lenny Wallace from 1996-1999, and a clip of him in action was shown on today’s show.

Susanna threw insults at “chubster” Piers during Monday’s show to encourage him to lose the weight he’s put on during lockdown.

The presenters both admitted to piling on the pounds over the past few months.

Piers cheekily suggested they do “vigorous exercise” together to lose weight.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am
