Good Morning Britain ‘s Andi Peters cracked joke after joke in the studio this morning – but Piers Morgan wasn’t laughing.
The 49-year-old presented a competition segment inspired by pork pies, inviting viewers to text in to vote.
Taking a swipe at Piers’ waistline, he suggested Piers had been snacking on pies in the studio.
Refusing to smile, Piers suggested he was being “fat-shamed”, as he ordered Andi to apologise to him.
Things turned especially awkward when Andi raced out of the studio, singing “who ate all the pies” as he ran.
Piers griped: “I just think its completely unacceptable.”
Andi replied: “It’s jest, or as the kids say, ‘bants’.”
With a sour look on his face, Piers replied: “You could say fired.”

Tensions went from bad to worse when Piers complained about Andi’s tight T-shirt, suggesting he could see his tummy through the skintight fabric.
Referring to his 2007 Men’s Health magazine cover, Andi replied: “What you need to do is Google ‘Andi Peters Men’s Health’.”
In a savage take-down, Piers hit back, saying: “Mate no one even Googles Andi Peters.”

Susanna Reid was forced to intervene, accusing Piers of “fame-shaming” Andi in front of the live TV audience.
Meanwhile, viewers took to Twitter to brand the exchange as “uncomfortable”, picking up on the tensions in the studio.
One said: “Wow that awkward silence when you can’t truly work out if you have offended someone!!!”

A second added: “That was just uncomfortable to watch.”
And a third chimed: “That wasn’t awkward at all on GMB hahah.”
