Carmit Bachar has revealed the heartache she felt when she was forced to return home rather than jet across the world with the Pussycat Dolls.
The When I Grow Up singer, 46, revealed she was instantly shocked when the coronavirus restrictions came into place while the group were in London.
Carmit and her bandmates, Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts and Jessica Sutta were getting ready to celebrate their reunion after ten years apart from one another, kicking off a tour in the UK following the release of their single, React.
The red-headed beauty recalled the moment she was forced to flee London and return to Los Angeles.
“We were back in that whirlwind of going non-stop and flying across the world I remember that I basically had said good-bye to my daughter for what was supposed to be three months.
“Then instead I was back home in a week. It was a shocker,” she told Retreat magazine.
Carmit, who is mum to eight-year-old Keala Rose, has previously spoken about raising a mixed race daughter in the current climate following the Black Lives Matter movement.
She added that Keala, who she shares with director Kevin Whitaker, is aware of the movement “to a certain extent”.
“She should see the value in that everyone is equal,” she added.
On the topic of the movement, Carmit revealed that social media posts forced her away from using the likes of Twitter and Instagram.
“When all the imagery on social media was too intense to watch I had to back off, it doesn’t mean that I don’t support the cause [BLM].
“I actively support the cause… I just have to be protective on so many levels,” she added.
The Pussycat Dolls initially pushed their tour back to October 2020 but due to current coronavirus guidelines, the tour was yet again rescheduled to May 2021.
Confirming that they were back in business, the group launched their reunion on The X Factor: Celebrity, on which Nicole Scherzinger sat on the judging panel.
Since the lockdown period started in March, Carmit has been delighting fans with an array of sultry snaps on her Instagram page as well as giving a brief glimpse into her A-List lifestyle, packed with luxury weekend retreats.
