The Pussycat Dolls ‘ raunchy performance of hit track Don’t Cha on a morning TV show has been slammed online – but one of the bandmembers has defiantly hit back at the criticism.
The girl group – known for their risque performances – appeared on Australian show Sunrise this morning to give a rendition of one of their most popular songs.
Dressed in black fishnets, bodysuits, and plenty of lace, the fivesome showed off their signature burlesque-style moves.
But viewers watching at home were left unimpressed at the saucy performance, claiming it was far too provocative for a family-friendly show.
One mum took to Facebook to say: “I am sorry but not much dancing, to me it was more about sex,” she wrote.

“I think they are all too old for this. Not impressed, especially for a family show.”
Another referred to the gig as a “singing strip show”, saying: “Weird choice. Uncomfortable explaining to kids why a singing strip show is on…because that’s what every little girl should aspire to.”
And a third said: “I don’t think dressing like a stripper is all that empowering.
“Becoming a doctor, lawyer or CEO is empowering.”
But the girl band – who have been criticised in the past for similarly-provocative performances – have since spoken out in defiance.

Kimberly Wyatt told news.com.au: “I thought we were beyond this, but obviously the conversation needs to continue.
“We’re warriors when we step on stage, throwing everything into it.
“It’s unfortunate that it’s so misunderstood by so many people.
“People who feel that they are so affected by it that they have to have something to say.”

Legendary presenting duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly recently made light of the Dolls’ choice of outfits for performances on Saturday Night Takeaway.
During the group’s act on the show, the pair were comically seen trying to “censor” their bodies.
But the performance still received 68 Ofcom complaints, according to The Sun.
Earlier in the year, the group also received complaints following their reunion on The X Factor.
