Ricky Gervais has spilt some behind-the-scenes filming secrets during his Twitter live-stream.
The comedian, 58, has been broadcasting live every evening this week to entertain those staying at home amid the coronavirus crisis.
In today’s episode, the popular television star exposed a backstage The Office secret about a certain character on the popular sitcom.
He said: “Eric Hitchmough is based on a person I worked with years ago… I won’t say his real name.”
Ricky confirmed that this person did something once which inspired the hilarious character in the show.
He said: “He was 65, so he was retiring. One Friday we had a sort of birthday-slash-leaving do for him.

“Had a whip-round and bought him a BBQ.
“Then Monday morning he just turns up at work and says ‘I got it wrong I was 64’, so he worked another year.
“I thought, I’ll have that.”
Ricky has been entertaining his followers for days amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
He left fans concerned in one of his earlier videos when he joked he was having a “break down”.

The After Life star attempted to cheer his followers up amid the virus, giving them “survival tips” but fans were concerned as he proceeded to sing theme tunes, jokingly saying: “This is more of a breakdown isn’t it?”

While another wrote: “Crazy b****r” with three laughing face emojis.
A third tweeted: “Ricky Gervais is doing a daily live gig from his home. It’s, of course, brilliantly rubbish.”
“Haha hope you are doing okay,” added a fourth worried follower.
