We’ve all seen autopsies carried out in films and TV shows as the camera pans to a chilling scene of a forensic expert leaning over a table supporting a dead body.
But for these celebs, actors and musicians, their autopsy reports really did reveal some quite chilling and horror-like information about their tragic deaths.
Autopsy reports are filled with details about what may have led to a person’s death and are used to determine how the person died.
From exposed brains, burnt bodies, undetected illnesses, hidden bullets and sex acts gone wrong, here are the most disturbing things found in celebrities autopsy reports.

The Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill star’s second autopsy report suggested that the 72-year-old had died in a “sex act gone wrong”.
David sadly didn’t get to enjoy his fame from Kill Bill or Kung Fu for long after he was found dead in a Bangkok hotel in 2009.
At the time, Thai authorities stated that he was found with his hands tied above his head with rope tied around his neck and genitals.
According to ABC News, leaked crime scene photos appeared to reveal he was wearing “fishnets and a wig” when he was found.
His death was at first classified as a suicide, but it wasn’t until his second autopsy report that it suggested his death could be down to a “sex act gone wrong”.
Forensic pathologist Dr Michael Baden told Reuters: “The cause of death was asphyxiation, an inability to breathe.
“He didn’t die of natural causes, and he didn’t die of suicidal causes from the nature of the ligatures around the body, so that leaves some kind of accidental death.”
Paul Walker

The entire world was left devastated when Fast and Furious star Paul Walker died in 2013 following a horrific car crash.
Paul died after the Porsche Carrera CT, which he was a passenger in, crashed at speeds of around 100mph which caused the car to break in half, before it then exploded and killed both him and driver Roger Rodas.
But fans were left even more horrified and heartbroken when his autopsy report revealed his horror film-like death.
In his autopsy report, it detailed how the top of his skull had been so badly torn apart that his brain was exposed.
It also revealed he had suffered a long list of broken bones, including his collarbone, pelvis and his jaw.
The autopsy reported how Paul’s body was “so badly charred” that none of his organs were suitable to be donated.
However, the most horrifying thing found in Paul’s report was how he “could have taken a few breaths after impact as bits of soot were found in his trachea”, according to the Daily Mail.
Heather O’Rourke

One of the most tragic findings in a celebrity autopsy report is that of Heather O’Rourke who died when she was just 12 years old.
She’s a celebrity who you may have only come across if you’re a classic horror film fanatic, as she found fame as a child star after she played Carol Ann Freeling in the first three Poltergeist movies.
The Poltergeist movies are said to be “cursed” and many believe Heather’s death was down to the “curse”.
In 1999, the youngster died on an operating table in The Children’s Hospital of San Diego after she was reportedly airlifted to San Diego while in critical condition.
A hospital spokeswoman told the Los Angeles Times at the time: “It was a bowel obstruction which caused an infection that, in turn, brought on septic shock.
“The shock prompted full cardiac and pulmonary arrest.”
It came as news to Heather’s parents, who had no idea what was to come when they took their daughter to the hospital with “flu-like symptoms”.
After the autopsy report came out, her parents filed a wrongful-death suit as they claimed Heather’s illness was misdiagnosed.
Her mother, Kathleen O’Rourke Peele, said: “The X rays taken, if properly read, would have disclosed that this was the kind of condition that should have been treated surgically.”
Cory Monteith

Cory rose to fame playing mean jock turned Glee club member Finn Hudson in Glee but sadly died in 2013.
He was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room at 31 years old and his autopsy report revealed he had died from a toxic reaction caused by high levels of alcohol and heroin.
His death shocked fans, but those close to Cory spoke out at the time and claimed he had been trying to talk about his addictions for years and had done stints in rehab.
The coroner’s report read: “It appeared that Mr Monteith had been dead for several hours.”
It also detailed how a “spoon with drug residue and a used hypodermic needle” and “two empty champagne bottles” were found by his body.
Brandon Lee

The son of Bruce Lee was just starting an acting career of his own after he starred in The Crow by Alex Proyas but died during filming when he was just 28, in 1993.
Following an accident on set, his autopsy report says medical examiners were left “shocked” when they found a 44-caliber bullet lodged in his spine, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Brandon was reportedly wounded when a prop gun containing a dummy round – which looks like a real bullet and is used for close-up shots to make the weapon appear loaded – was fired before being re-loaded with a blank.
Surgeons reportedly tried to save Brandon’s life by transfusing 60 pints of blood – enough for five grown men – during their attempt to save his life, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Michael Jackson

The King of Pop’s death left his millions of fans heartbroken, so when his autopsy report was released on August 28, 2009, everyone wanted to know what the Los Angeles County Coroner had concluded to be the cause of his death.
The report stated that his death was a homicide, as the court heard how Jackson had been administered propofol and anti-anxiety benzodiazepines lorazepam and midazolam by his doctor, Conrad Murray.
Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011 and served two years of his four-year prison sentence for good behaviour.
But fans were left confused when Michael’s autopsy revealed that he was a “fairly healthy” 50-year-old man at the time of his death.
Going into details, the report recalled how the King Of Pop had puncture marks on his arms.
It also revealed a number of tattoos that Michael had kept secret, including tattooed pink lips, eyebrows and a dark tattoo across the top of his balding head so he could allegedly disguise his wigs better.
Michael openly discussed his cosmetic surgery so it was no surprise the report detailed how he had scars behind his ears and beside his nostrils, which the coroner described as likely “being caused by cosmetic surgery”.
The disturbing report also detailed the injuries he had suffered while paramedics desperately tried to save his life.
Paramedics cracked his ribs during CPR, and a machine called a balloon pump was inserted into his chest as they attempted to jumpstart his heart.
The singer also had mild arthritis and lung damage, which Dr Zeev Kain, the University of California physician who reviewed the report for the Associated Press at the time, said may have left Michael short of breath.
However, Dr Kain said the star’s “overall health was fine”, and the results were in “normal limits”.
