Strictly's Saffron Barker launches charity to help NHS in coronavirus fight

Strictly Come Dancing and YouTube sensation, Saffron Barker, has launched a new initiative asking fellow YouTubers to donate advertising revenue in a bid to help the NHS fight coronavirus.

Saffron, 19, and other YouTube stars will be using social media to encourage followers to watch YouTube videos on Saturday but also to watch the adverts in order to increase donations.

Each YouTuber will be donating individually to the charity.

It’s also believed that each YouTuber will be tweeting their official donation links in a bid to maximise the amount raised.

The social media sensation, who boasts 4,360,000 combined followers, tweeted: “11th April, join me to raise money for the NHS Charities Covid-19 appeal.

“I really wanted to find a way for us to come together and help to support our amazing NHS in this time-of-need.

“Our front-line workers are doing such an amazing job and as a group, we can make positive change. YouTube is such a powerful online platform, so I hope my online friends and colleagues join me to donate and support on Super Saturday, Saturday 11th April.”
