The Chase viewers didn’t hold back this afternoon as they witnessed Shaun “The Dark Destroyer” Wallace beat all four contestants.
Bradley Walsh welcomed a new team of players to the show today for the final episode of the week, which originally aired in 2017.
The cheeky presenter was eager to see them get through to the final with some money in-hand.
The Dark Destroyer was in the hot seat tonight, trying to prevent the hopefuls from going home with the cash prize.
Karen, Chris, Jason and Mark took it in turns to take on the cash builder and later went head-to-head with The Chaser in an intense round of general knowledge questions.
Each of the four players struggled in the cash builder round but gained confidence when it was their turn to take on The Dark Destroyer in the head-to-head rounds.
Unfortunately, none of today’s team was able to make it back home and dry, and all four were caught by the Chaser.
Despite going home emptied handed, they each had their own plans on how they were going to spend their prize money.
Jason had hoped to use his winnings to “throw a big party” and Karen planned to send her parents on a dream holiday to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.
ITV viewers took to their keyboards as they slammed the “useless” foursome.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “This team is absolutely s**t today.”
Another added: “Today’s team was tragically bad.”
A third moaned: “The producers had to lean so far in to scrape the bottom of the barrel to get this team on they nearly fell in.”
A fourth ranted: “Christ almighty this is one of the worst teams ever to appear on The Chase.”
While Mark, Jason, Chris and Karen were all knocked out of the competition early on, they were later offered the opportunity to redeem themselves.
The team chose Jason to go head-to-head with Shaun in the final chase.
After only answering six questions correctly, the contestant was caught once more and the team were forced to go home with nothing.
The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm
