The Chase host Bradley Walsh welcomed housewife Jane on to the show today, in the hopes of beating the infamous Chaser.
Paul “The Sinnerman” Sinha appeared on the podium, ready to take on the competition.
The bar was immediately raised when amateur baker Jane racked up a whopping £9,000 in the cash builder round – leaving quiz legend Paul impressed.
Believing she was capable of winning tens of thousands, Paul put a whopping £46,000 on the table for the high offer.
Her fellow contestants egged her on, saying: “Jane that was a brilliant cash builder, go for the high one.”
Meanwhile, over on Twitter, viewers were convinced Jane could get a job as one of the famous Chasers on the show after showing off her brain power.
With room for one more Chaser – joining Paul, Anne Hegerty, Mark Labbett, Jenny Ryan and Sean Wallace – viewers felt Jane had the smarts to land the job.
One said: “She’s going to be a Chaser in 2025.”
A second agreed: “She’s class. Come on Jane.”
“Amazing player number two Jane,” added a third.
Refusing the high offer, Jane decided to settle for the middle sum of £9,000, gearing up to take on Paul in a general knowledge battle.
With just one wrong answer, Jane made it back to the table with £9,000 in her pocket – much to the delight of her teammates.
Impressed, Paul remarked: “If you do win, I’m coming round for macaroons!”
Later, he hinted he was worried about the remaining contestants as he headed into the final round, saying: “Jane oozes class and quality.”
Sadly, things took a turn for the worse when Paul managed to beat the team’s total of 13 correct answers – sending the contestants home empty-handed.
The Chase airs on weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
