Phillip Schofield was back on our screens on Thursday to present The Million Pound Cube.
The stakes were higher than ever before as contestants attempted seemingly simple tasks inside the iconic perspex box.
The object of the game is to complete a series of challenges from within the 4m x 4m box, for a chance to win a life-changing £1million.
Each contestant has nine lives, and when they make an unsuccessful attempt, one life is lost.
Father-and-son duo Adam and Rhys took on The Cube during the fourth instalment of the latest series of the intense ITV game show.
Things got tense as the prize fund increased and the difficulty of the tasks got harder.
Competitive dad Adam messed up one challenge towards the end of the show due to a little stumble, but he was determined to complete it.
The contestant was keen to prove it was just a minor error, but Phillip quickly pointed out that he wouldn’t have moved on to the next level even if he did pass the task first time because he broke the rules.
“You would have failed anyway because you can only use one hand,” the presenter explained.
Viewers at home rushed to their keyboards as Phillip pointed out Adam’s error as the player was meant to only use one hand during the task in question.
Taking to Twitter, one baffled viewer penned: “Good old Phil putting the dad in his place, your letting him down haha.”
Another added: “Hahaha Phil is putting the dad back in his box.”
A third asked: “Phil telling the dad he is s**t.”
While a fourth said: “That’s right Phil. You tell him. Smug one that dad.”
A fifth added: “Ha ha Phil blaming the Dad!”
Adam and Rhys got through the first three challenges without losing a single lifeline.
Before they took on their first challenge, Phillip asked the pair what they’d spend their winnings on if they walked away with a cash prize.
Dad Adam revealed that he’d give all his winnings to his daughter, who was sitting in the audience with her mum.
Taking to Twitter to discuss the generous act, one fan gushed: “Awh the dad is giving his half of the prize money to his daughter.”
Another added: “What a lad!”
A third persons said: “Generous dad, lucky daughter.”
The father-and-son duo will be back on Friday’s show as they continue their bid to beat The Cube for £1 million.
The Million Pound Cube continues on ITV on Friday at 9pm
