The One Show's Alex Jones looks completely different after hair transformation

BBC The One Show’s Alex Jones surprised her fans with a stylish new makeover this week, after a trip to the hairdressers resulted in a major transformation.

The 43-year-old presenter swapped her natural brunette hairdo in favourite of a shade of platinum blonde, styling her hair in a choppy bob.

Alex, whose hair has grown lighter in recent years, debuted the new look in a candid selfie, thanking her hairdresser for working his magic.

Tilting her head towards the camera, she mused: “Thanks @lewis_pallett for the cut and colour.

“Never thought I’d be this blonde.”

The BBC star went on to showcase her new hairstyle while modelling for fashion brand Nobody’s Child, sharing behind-the-scenes photos with her fans.

Alex is currently taking some time off from presenting, enjoying the summer break with her hubby Charlie Thomson and their two children.

The Welsh beauty has fronted The One Show since 2010, becoming a beloved fixture of the chat show along with her co-stars Gethin Jones and Alex Scott.

Despite her star status, Alex confessed she occasionally battles with “imposter syndrome,” and fears getting unexpectedly axed by BBC bosses.

Speaking to Good Housekeeping earlier this year, she said: “I still have a major case of imposter syndrome. I’m constantly waiting for someone to go ‘Er, actually hang on a minute, we’ve made a terrible mistake here.’ I’m convinced I’m going to get that call.”

However, the mum-of-two admitted she feels it is important to represent women on the show, and hopes to become a good role model for her sons.

Speaking about gender pay gaps in the TV industry, she said: “I hate confrontation but if you feel in your heart of hearts that something isn’t right, you have to speak up and the right people will listen and not make the conversation difficult.

“Considering how far the world has moved on, it’s insane to think that one person would be paid any different to the person sitting next to them doing the same job because of their gender. I wouldn’t want my boys to grow up in a world where that was the case.”
