Tipping Point fans were left raging online after Monday’s contestants Gary and Jackie failed to answer a question correctly about iconic writer Roald Dahl.
During the penultimate round of the Ben Shephard-hosted show, the duo were asked what animal is the main character in Roald Dahl classic Esio Trot.
Despite the book being one of the most successful children’s novels of all time, neither Jackie or Gary had a clue.
Looking baffled, Gary said he thought it could be a pigeon.
Meanwhile, Jackie thought it is may be a dog.
In reality, Esio Trot is a tortoise.
Esio Triot is even tortoise backwards.
One fan tweeted: “Oh my lord! How thick are these two? #tippingpoint”
Another shocked viewer raged: “Pigeon? #tippingpoint WTF.”
“It’s tortoise backwards for goodness sake #tippingpoint,” a third mocked.

Meanwhile, a fourth raged: “There’s a massive massive clue in the question. Read it backwards.”
“Tortoise! The answer is right there #tippingpoint,” another moaned.
Talking to Ben about appearing on the show, Jackie said: “I watch it every single day.
“What is not to like. You come here, you have a lovely day out and you meet nice people… what is not to like.”
Asked how she would spend any prize money, Jackie replied: “Well, my husband and I have travelled extensively over the past year – we only had August at home.
“We are both retired now but still on the list to see is the Great Wall Of China.
“I think you have to to try it and see it once.”
Not stopping there the lovable contestant added: “Next year we will have been together 50 years and married for 43 years.”
After a lacklustre final round, Jackie missed out on the jackpot prize but still managed to head home with a cool £2200.
Tipping Point continues on ITV daily at 4pm
