Zendaya is reportedly in talks to take on the role of playing Ronnie Spector, the lead singer of iconic girl group The Ronettes in an upcoming biopic film.
The former Disney star was reportedly requested by Ronnie herself to take on the role.
Reports also claim that Ronnie, her manager Jonathan Greenfield and Zendaya, 24, have all signed up to be executive producers on the film produced by A24 and New Regency.
Deadline reports that Jackie Sibblies Drury is in talks to write the script for the as of now untitled film.
The film will be focused on Ronnie’s autobiography, Be My Baby, which she wrote alongside Vince Waldron.

It is also believed to look at Spector’s earlier career, the formation of The Ronettes and their collaboration with Phil Spector and his label, Philles Records.
Viewers will also witness the marriage of Ronnie and Phil, which she later said was a mistake as well as their divorce.
Shortly after their divorce in 1974, Ronnie took on her ex-husband in a bid to take control and ownership of the rights to her music.

Just four years later, The Ronettes were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Most recently, Zendaya made history when she became the youngest actress to take home the Emmy Award for Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role in Euphoria.
She also became the second black woman to win the award following Viola Davis back in 2015.

Coleman is also gearing up for the release of her latest Hollywood film, Dune, alongside Timothée Chalamet which is released in UK cinemas on December 18.
Speaking about her new-found pal, former Disney star Zendaya gushed: “I met Timothée Chalamet at my chemistry-read [for DUNE].”
“I felt like we’d known each other forever like he was my homie growing up,” she revealed to Empire.
She went on to say: “We became really great friends. He’s very talented.”
