Amy Winehouse’s mum, Janis, furiously denies the singer’s relationship with her dad was similar to Britney Spears’ war with her father.
Janis, 66, used the 10th anniversary of Amy’s death to urge fans not to blame the star’s dad Mitch, 71.
She said: “It wasn’t his fault. You didn’t tell Amy what to do. Nobody did.”
Asked if she saw parallels with Britney’s bitter conservatorship battle with dad Jamie, Janis said: “No, no! It wasn’t at all like that.
“We all do wrong things sometimes, and the easy target was Mitchell. But all of us put in so much effort.”
A BBC documentary Amy Winehouse: 10 Years On will air to mark the anniversary of the singer’s death on July 23, 2011, aged 27.
Michael, Janis’ son with second husband Richard Collins, also appears.
He told Radio Times: “Amy was always a force of nature who would do what she wanted.”
Droves of Amy’s fans accused Mitch of not doing enough to get her into rehab.

The documentary shows Amy’s life from the beginning of her career promoting her debut album to her struggle with substance abuse, her eating disorder, and her relationships.
“I don’t feel the world knew the true Amy, the one that I brought up, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to offer an understanding of her roots and a deeper insight into the real Amy,” Janis said.
Unfortunately, Janis has also revealed that she is now suffering from M.S or Multiple Sclerosis, which can cause memory loss, so wants to share her memories of her daughter whilst she still can.
Amy Winehouse: 10 Years On will shine a light on the childhood and private life of Amy as well as unseen archive footage.
The documentary will be part of a full season of specials on BBC Two and radio, examining Amy’s significant influence on the music world.
