BBC Breakfast fans were less than impressed with a guest Vanessa O’Brien on Tuesday’s show after she’d forgotten to “mute her phone”.
After a constant barrage of disruption, viewers who were finding it “hard to concentrate” took to Twitter to fume in hope that she would switch off the “annoying” phone sound.
One fan vented: “@vobonline Just spent the last 5 minutes checking my iPad for messages whilst you were on #bbcbreakfast.”
Another online user was very angry about the disturbance, adding: “@BBCBreakfast what nightmare of that last interview couldn’t concentrate with her bloody texts going on!! #putyourphoneonsilence #ffs! #BBCBreakfast.”
A third tweet read: “How simple it would be to say ‘Interview on, silence your phone’ #bbcbreakfast.”
“How simple it would be to say ‘Interview on, silence your phone’ #bbcbreakfast,” asked a fourth.
While a fifth person had become seriously “frustrated” and said: “I do wish people who are being interviewed on #BBCBreakfast would silence their phones, tablets etc I just got frustrated hearing a notification tone every few seconds and I’m probably not the only one.”
Vanessa’s pals were clearly not aware that she would appear on the BBC programme, with her phone spring to action and pinging every second.
Even host Dan Walker had became aggravated by the flurry of messages that his guest had received during the chat.
As the interview concluded, he couldn’t resist making a dig about Vanessa’s “notification” issue.
