BBC The One Show shockers from Rita Ora's risque outfit to Jimmy Carr dwarf gag

It’s the early evening programme that’s been going for 15 years – yet the BBC favourite has seen some surprisingly controversial moments.

The One Show first hit the box this week in 2006 and since then has been hosted by stars including Alex Jones, Christine Bleakley, Adrian Chiles, Matt Baker and Chris Evans.

Here Daily Star has taken a look back at 15 of its most eyebrow-raising episode…

Shooting from the lip

A 2011 appearance by former Top Gear star Jeremy Clarkson led to 31,000 complaints when he said of striking public sector workers: “I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families.”

Bit of a boob

Rita Ora’s outfit sparked another wave of complaints in 2015 after the pop princess appeared in a risqué jacket with a plunging neckline.

Short Shrift

When comedian Jimmy Carr appeared in the same year he made two near-the-knuckle gags about dwarves, which were later found to be in breach of the broadcasting code.

Here is the snooze

In 2011 host Matt Baker asked David Cameron: “Really quickly… how do you sleep at night.”

The surprised PM replied: “I’ve always managed to sleep OK.”

Street of shame

The BBC was forced to defend itself after complaints in 2014 that TV’s Paul O’Grady wasn’t properly challenged about his views after slamming Channel 4 show Benefits Street.

Dead awkward

Bum note

That’s a wrap
