BBC's Zoe Ball and Norman Cook's skint son can't buy bread after parents 'cut him off'

Zoe Ball and Norman Cook’s son Woody claims his mum and dad “cut him off” financially.

The 20-year-old, son to DJ superstar and one of BBC’s highest-paid stars says he is so short of cash he can’t afford to buy a loaf of bread.

Woody Cook, celebrity Gogglebox star, told The Mirror that they stopped giving him handouts.

He said: “My parents make it clear that I was born into a privilege they have had to work their ass off to get.

“My parents have cut me off completely. They are like, ‘Do you want to be a trust fund child or do you want to work?’ I want to work, so I am now self-sufficient. I don’t have a student loan.

“I am doing it all by myself. The other day I couldn’t afford bread, but I’m working through it.”

But he vows to hold his own, unlike other children with celebrity parents.

He says a bouncer told him he “bucks the trend” when they meet other Hollywood offspring.

He went on to claim that the bouncer shared he didn’t want to like him, and after seeing “the Brooklyn Beckhams”, he realised Woody was different.

Woody added his parents taught him to be himself and “not rely on someone else.”

Despite not being able to buy bread, he reveals he still finds cash to “get off his nut” at home.

He jokes: “I can be a right creature. My poor mum is the one who gets up at half four every morning to go to work on the radio and I’ll be off my nut. Me and my mates will be stumbling around the house still up and mum is like, ‘Hi, I’m off to work’.”

Radio 2 host Zoe and Norman, known as Fat Boy Slim, divorced in 2006 after being wed for seven years, but they remain friends.

Woody recently came out as bisexual and wore a dress to the Attitude bash.

He said his dad “inspired” him as he wore a bee costume at Glastonbury once, with his mum Zoe happy he’s gay.
