New Edition singer Bobby Brown has previously vocalised his pain regarding the tragic deaths of his daughter Bobbi Kristina, his ex-wife Whitney Houston, and his son Bobby Brown Jr.
But in a recent episode of Red Table Talk, the star openly discussed the deaths of his daughter Bobbi Kristina and ex-wife Whitney Houston and who he believes was the cause of them.
On this week’s episode of Red Table Talk, hosts Jada Pinkett Smith, daughter Willow Smith and Jada’s mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris sat down with Grammy award winner Bobby Brown.
Very early on in the programme the discussion around Bobbi Kristina’s death was bought to the red table.
Jada asked Bobby about his daughter’s experience with generational trauma and drug addiction as her life began to mimic Bobby and Whitney’s turbulent lifestyle.
Bobby agreed with this but went on to mention that Bobbi was stuck in an “abusive relationship with a boy who controlled her”.
Bobbi and her boyfriend Nick Gordon moved into a suburban townhouse located in Atlanta with two other housemates and eventually got engaged, but the relationship became very toxic.
On the night Bobbi Kristina was found facedown in the bathtub, one of the roommates said she had witnessed Nick kicking her and at one point the witness claims they saw Nick knock out her tooth.
In 2016, a judge ruled that Nick was legally responsible for Bobbi Kristina’s death.
In 2020, Nick died after a heroin overdose.
Jada asked Bobby his thoughts on this and probed him on who he believed was responsible.
Jada asked: “So you believe that there was foul play in Bobbi Kristina’s death?”
“Definitely,” Bobby replied.
Willow then asked: “Like, that maybe he drugged her?”
Bobby responded: “Definitely. He was the only one there with both situations, with my ex-wife and with my daughter, and they both died the same way.”
“So you think that he killed Whitney as well?” Willow probed.
Bobby said: “I believe so.”
Adrienne then asked the singer: “Do you think that he provided Bobbi Kristina and Whitney with the drugs? How do you think that he’s culpable?”
“Yeah. I think this is my opinion of who I think this young man was. Being around my daughter and being around my ex-wife, I think [Nick] was more so a provider of, you know, party favours,” Bobby explained.
Jada asked: “Did you ever have a chance to confront that young man or no?”
Bobby said: “No. No, I didn’t. In fact… I was in rehab at the time when he passed. I had planned on, once I left rehab, to approach the young man just to find out how my daughter was in her last days. But no, I never got a chance to find out from him or talk to him.”
Bobbi Kristina who was Whitney and Bobby’s first daughter tragically died in 2015 from a drug overdose.
The young star’s body was found in a bathtub with drugs in her system.
Though she was still alive, she never regained consciousness and died 6 months later.
She was only 22 at the time of death.
Bobbi Kristina’s devastating passing was often compared to Whitney’s as she was found intoxicated in a bathtub.
Subsequently, the singer drowned due to coronary artery disease and cocaine intoxication.
