Dustin Diamond's ashes to be shared between dad and girlfriend amid vandal fears

Dustin Diamond has reportedly been cremated following his death earlier this week.

The actor who rose to fame playing Screech in the hit show Saved By The Bell passed away on Monday, three weeks after he had been diagnosed with stage four small-cell lung carcinoma.

At the time of his death, the San Jose, California born star was just 44.

Following his tragic death, it has been reported that the late actor had wished to be cremated, with his ashes shared between his girlfriend Tash Jules and his dad.

A representative for Dustin told Daily Star that the actor had wished to not be buried, amid fears of his grave being vandalised by members of the public.

Dustin believed that his public profile would prompt people to find his grave.

Currently, it’s claimed that there are no plans to scatter the ashes of the actor.

Relatives of Dustin’s are asking for donations made by fans to go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, in memory of his mum who passed away following a battle with breast cancer.

Dustin had been admitted to hospital on Friday before he was discharged on Monday and taken to a pals house for care.

His girlfriend who goes by the name of Tash was sorting out a bedroom for Dustin with a friend when she discovered him lying on the hospital bed in the lounge, not breathing.

Shortly after dialling 911, paramedics arrived at the property and pronounced Dustin, who had a Do Not Resuscitate order in place was pronounced dead.

His representative, Roger Paul, told Daily Star at the time: “We are saddened to confirm of Dustin Diamond’s passing on Monday, February 1st, 2021 due to carcinoma. He was diagnosed with this brutal, relentless form of malignant cancer only three weeks ago.

In that time, it managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy it exhibited was its sharp and swift execution. Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful.”

Paul continued: “Dustin Diamond was a character in and of himself: an unpredictable spitfire who always left us shocked, but never left us bored.

“We are thankful he trusted us enough to share his genuine, authentic self with our team. We wish you knew him in the way that we did.

“We please ask that you give room for privacy to our team and Mr Diamond’s family during this tragic time, as we grieve and remember the memories spent together. This loss is as much stinging as it is sudden.”

In a statement released last month via Dustin’s Facebook page, his rep confirmed the actor had been diagnosed with cancer.

It later emerged Diamond was battling stage four lung cancer, with his friends and girlfriend by his side in the hospital ward.
