Former EastEnders star Thomas Law has said that he will be tuning in to watch his soap dad on I’m A Celebrity and predicts he will go far on the show.
Thomas, who used to play Ian Beale’s son Peter, said that he will watch anything that Adam Woodyatt is on and says he will do well on the ITV show.
Adam Woodyatt’s spends a lot of time in the great outdoors already after recently buying £93k motorhome.
The actor – who is most well known for playing Ian Beale on the BBC soap – moved into the amazing mobile home after splitting from wife of 22 years Beverley Sharp.
Talking to the Daily Star, Thomas said: “I will watch anything that Adam is on. I think he would be very useful as a campmate, he’s got a really interesting life.”
Thomas also predicted his TV dad will be a strong contender among the celebs.
Actor Thomas used to play Adam’s on-screen son between 2006 – 2010.
He added: “He is the longest-serving actor, he’s met so many people and been through so many experiences.
“He’s really lovely – he loves being a dad – he’s got a lot to add and he will share some great stories. So, I’m sure he will be right and ready to go.”
Thomas also said the BBC One soap “will never be the same” without his former on-screen dad Ian Beale, if the rumours are true that he could be leaving.
Adam has played his iconic Ian role for over 35 years and starred in the first-ever episode of the show, which aired in 1985.
However, he’s currently on hiatus from the show as he returned to theatre acting and recent reports claim that Adam could be leaving the soap after he stars on this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star at the Together For Short Lives Ball in London on Tuesday, Thomas opened up about the future of his on-screen dad.
When asked if the rumours are true that Adam is going to quit EastEnders, Thomas said that he doubts he’s leaving but it would change the soap for good.
He said: “I can say that it definitely won’t ever be the same, no, but I don’t know if that’s true.
“So if that is true then good luck to him, but I doubt that he is.”
He went on to say that he still keeps in touch with Adam, who he describes as one of the “nicest guys”.
Thomas said: “I still keep in touch with Adam – he’s one of the nicest guys. He’s lovely, such a nice guy.
“He’s now gone off to do a play recently and I’m excited for him to enjoy that. Yeah, EastEnders ticks along, everyone loves it.”
Adam is on a hiatus from the BBC soap and is currently touring with the theatre production, Looking Good Dead, which was delayed because of the pandemic.
The star has never set an actual date for his return to Albert Square, but he had indicated that it would probably be in 2022.
The actor has played Ian since 1985, making him the soap’s longest-serving cast member, and he is a big favourite with viewers.
He’s now rumoured to be one of the campers on I’m A Celeb, which returns to ITV on 21st November with hosts Ant and Dec at the helm once more.
The show will not be in the Australian jungle as it is returning to Gwrych Castle in Wales for the second year running amid the pandemic.
