Emmerdale star Lisa Riley has teased that Mandy Dingle may not marry Paul Ashdale (Reece Dinsdale) next week after their wedding day ends in tragedy.
A 999 call is heard during Monday’s episode and as viewers move through the epic week, flashforward scenes will reveal three hospital beds.
Each day fans will get a further glimpse of who occupies the beds, but the week is set to end in tragedy for at least one villager.
Mandy and Paul’s wedding is at the centre of the explosive storyline but will the couple make it down the aisle?
Busy preparing herself to finally marry Paul, Mandy has no idea of the horror that she will be faced with soon.
Lisa told Daily Star and other press: “Everyone wants Mandy to have her happy ever after.
“She’s one of the most vulnerable characters on the show and she’s the girl next door that everyone wants to put their arms around.
“She’s been wearing a lot thicker than rose-tinted glasses recently.
“She’s kind of blinkered because all she wants is that magic fairytale and Paul is giving it to her.
“The venue we have for the wedding is a magical setting but it all goes terribly wrong.”
The soap star went on to share that there is a particular moment when Mandy questions whether or not she should marry dodgy Paul.
“This is the happiest she’s ever been going into this wedding,” Lisa explained.
“With Uncle Zak not being there, Sam becomes the sort of leader of the pack and gives her this beautiful gift of a bracelet which will be such a gorgeous moment of the week.
“When Sam gives her the gift, maybe Mandy is too nervous at this point and will go through with it? She’s frightened at this point.”
Mandy is still unaware that Paul has been abusing their son Vinny (Bradley Johnson) and was responsible for putting him in hospital.
Will Paul be unmasked on his wedding day?
Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Lisa, 44, teased what fans can expect from the week of episodes, which will conclude with a tragic death.
She said “It truly is going to be cinematic. Everyone has been waiting to see what’s happening next and they’re all going to get it all played out in the week.
