Gigi Hadid is one of the most prominent and highly spoken of models the world has seen, but before she embarked on a successful modelling career, some may remember her appearance in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Around that time, she shot into superstardom, becoming one of the highest paid models in the world, along with her sister Bella.
She then stepped back from the spotlight to welcome her first child with her One Direction boyfriend Zayn Malik, naming the little girl Khai.
It didn’t take long for Gigi to return to strutting her stuff though, as she sent her fans wild with a gorgeous Vogue cover.
So, to celebrate her 26th birthday we take a look inside the life of one of the most famous Hadids siblings on the planet.
Early career

Born in Los Angeles, Gigi’s father Mohamed Hadid was a real estate developer and her mother Yolanda Hadid was a former model.
Yolanda was a top model during the 80s and the 90s and made regular appearances in Vogue and on several catwalks.
Gigi lived in Beverly Hills with her family including her siblings Bella, Alana, Anwar and Marielle Hadid.
Gigi first began her modelling career at the tender age of 2 after she was discovered by Paul Marciano of Guess clothing and modeled for Baby Guess.
But due to educational commitments, Gigi paused her modelling career very early on. The model later returned to her career as a model in 2011 and started to work with Paul Marciano again. She was later named the face of a Guess campaign the following year.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Before she became a world-class supermodel and It girl, Gigi appeared on the reality show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
After divorcing her husband Mohamed in 2000, Yolanda appeared as a regular on the show with her husband David Walter Foster and children from 2012-2016.
Gigi and sister Bella both made regular appearances on the show as Yolanda’s teenage daughters.
Fans often remember highlights from the show and recall Gigi and her sister Bella showcasing just how rich they were, as they shopped around in their mom’s closet ahead of Gigi’s departure for a modeling gig in London on season 4.
Fans also remember the moment when Gigi expressed the pressures of becoming a model.
As well as starring in one of America’s biggest franchises, Gigi also appeared on Masterchef in 2016 where she raised $25,000 for charity. She also starred in an episode of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? as herself in October 2020.

Gigi along with her sister Bella has experienced triumphant career highlights over the years. After signing to IMG models in 2013, the blonde beauty made her New York Fashion Week debut in February 2014, walking for Desigual’s show.
In the same month, Gigi got her big break in high fashion on the cover of Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book magazine.
In July of that year, she appeared alongside actor and model Patrick Schwarzenegger in fashion designer Tom Ford’s Eyewear campaign.
In 2016, the star walked for designers such as Versace, Chanel, Elie Saab, Fendi, Marc Jacobs, Anna Sui, Miu Miu and Balmain and in January 2016, Gigi became an ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger.
In November 2018, the star announced her first collaboration with Reebok designing trainers for the sportswear brand.
Relationships

We all know that Gigi is loved up with her current beau Zayn Malik, but the star has had quite a few publicised relationships and equally public breakups too.
From 2013-2015, Gigi dated Australian pop star Cody Simpson. The pair were very open about their romance and often went onto Instagram to share their relationship with fans.
Speaking to DuJour about Gigi, Cody said: “I love my ex-girlfriend, I always will. It was an amicable, mutual decision, and we still talk every now and then, but the highly publicized thing made me uncomfortable.”
Rumours of Gigi dating F1 racer Lewis Hamilton also circulated in 2015 as they were seen looking fairly cosey with each other. However, the dating rumours were never confirmed.
Gigi also had a very brief fling with Joe Jonas in 2015. The pair dated for five months but called the relationship quits in November 2015.
Not long after, Gigi began dating Zayn Malik in the same year. The couple had a turbulent start to their relationship and broke up seven months later. The couple’s romance resumed in December 2019 and they’ve been together ever since.
Baby boom

On April 30 2020, Gigi and Zayn shocked the world when they revealed they were expecting their first child together.
Fans had been eagerly following the couple’s relationship since 2015 and were delighted that the couple was making another huge step in their relationship.
Disclosing when she first found out she was expecting to a fan, Gigi said: “Yes, I found out the day before the Tom Ford show.
“I was so nauseous backstage but I learned I could kinda control it if I continuously ate, so my mom would pack me snacks before each show.”
Gigi gave birth to a baby girl on September 23, 2020. Making the announcement to millions of fans worldwide Zayn wrote on Instagram: “Our baby girl is here, healthy & beautiful.
“To try put into words how i am feeling right now would be an impossible task. The love i feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding.
“Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, & thankful for the life we will have together x.
