Hollyoaks villain George Kiss (Callum Kerr) was killed on Thursday night following a violent showdown with his fiancé John Paul McQueen (James Sutton).
John Paul found himself at the centre of Thursday’s episode on E4 as he finally released he is being abused by his partner.
The teacher was left in fear of George in recent scenes after James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) revealed he was with Ste Hay (Kieran Richardson) the night he went missing.
As a worried John Paul tried to address the bombshell from the night before, George brushed over it and instead wanted to look ahead to their future together.
However, the police officer’s postive outlook soon changed as he spotted that John Paul had taken off his engagement ring.
Later in the episode, James and Ste were in the pub are were surprised to see John Paul and George back on track.
As John Paul reluctantly told James and Ste that he wanted nothing more to do with them, George told Ste that his partner had filed sexual abuse charges against him from the night he stayed on the sofa.
Things took a turn for the worst when John Paul confronted George about the horrendous lie he told Ste.
George brutally attacked John Paul in broad daylight and as the latter hit back, he was spotted by passers-by Sally St.Clare (Anne Wallace) and Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter).
An emotional John Paul later finally opened up to his family about the abuse he’s received from George.
As George waited for his taxi, a shadow appeared and wacked George over the head with a heavy object as he tied up his shoe lace.
Viewers rushed to social media as they predicted who murdered the copper.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “I don’t think JP killed George. Maybe #Hollyoaks wants us to believe that it was?”
Another added: “t’s either going to be Cher, Sally, Theresa, Mercedes, John-Paul, Ste or James or could Dean be back.”
While a third person posted: “A pretty great episode. Love a whodunit and it was pretty well set up..”
A fourth viewer said: “Who done it???? Thank the Lord someone put him in he’s place.”
Fans of the Channel 4 soap have been furious watching George manipulate John Paul for months as part of a sick coercive control storyline.
John Paul turned to drink recently following an argument with George and ended up sleeping on his ex-husband Ste’s sofa for the night.
To get his own back on John Paul, evil George pretended he’d been killed while attending a brawl at work.
As John Paul struggled to deal with the death of his boyfriend, George appeared out of nowhere and proposed with a gold ring.
