It’s been almost two years since Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stepped out together and attended Wimbledon to watch the women’s singles final in South West London.
On July 13, 2019, the pair were spotted sitting next to each other as they enjoyed each other’s company while watching tennis and cheering on Meghan’s close friend Serena Williams, who was playing against Romanian Tennis player Simona Halep.
This wasn’t the first time the pair attended Wimbledon together, as they attended the women’s single final the year prior.
Their 2018 outing was the pair’s first solo trip out since Meghan and Harry tied the knot in May two months prior.
For their first solo trip, back in 2018, Kate wore a polka dot and ruffle dress by British fashion designer, Jenny Packham. She paired this with a cream Dolce and Gabbana handbag.
Meanwhile, Meghan wore a blue and white button-down striped shirt paired with cream-coloured trousers, both of which were by Ralph Lauren.
Before the match, Kate and Meghan met with past female tennis champions and spoke to the ball boys and girls, before sitting down in the Royal Box to enjoy the match
The pair then stepped out together again to attend the women’s singles final at Wimbledon in 2019.
Kate wore a rich emerald green Dolce and Gabbana dress while Meghan opted for a blue and white patterned Hugo Boss skirt teamed with a crisp white shirt.
Travelling to Wimbledon separately, Kate arrived at the venue early.
She enjoyed lunch with club members and met with junior players Kamilla Bartone, Oksana Selekmeteva, Polina Kudermetova and Giulia Morlet.
Meghan then arrived prior to the start of Serena’s game before being seated in the Royal Box next to her sister-in-law.
The pair were then joined by Kate’s older sister, Pippa.
The trio looked chic as they enjoyed each other’s company before the match started.
Kate and Meghan looked friendly and cheerful as they focused on the game, exchanging smiles and laughs.
Kate then consoled her sister-in-law when close friend Serena Williams lost out on the title.
There were reports in People and Harper’s Bazaar that Kate comforted Meghan by rubbing her back to show her support.
Reported in Bazaar, an eyewitness said: “Kate put her hand out and rubbed Meghan’s back to console her.”
Since Meghan’s interview with American TV presenter and veteran interviewer Oprah Winfrey, the pair have recently been making headlines, but not for how friendly they are.
Meghan said in the interview with Oprah that Kate made her cry at the Royal wedding between Harry and Meghan, which was a year prior to their most recent Wimbledon appearance.
The pair must have resolved all of their issues before attending the game as they looked at ease and comfortable in each other’s company in both 2018 and 2019.
