Actor Jamie Dornan has said he tapped into method acting and “stalked” a woman in order to get into character for his role on The Fall.
Speaking with the LA Times, the 50 Shades of Grey star admitted he found the dubious act “kind of exciting, in a really sort of dirty way”.
Jamie said he stalked the woman on the London underground in order to help him prepare for a latter role.
In The Fall, Jamie portrays serial killer Paul Spector, not a character you want following you late at night.
He told the publication how he uses method acting to help him.

Jamie said: “Hold on … this is a really bad reveal: I, like, followed a woman off the train one day to see what it felt like to pursue someone like that.
“I really kept my distance … she got off a few stops earlier than I was planning so I said right, I have to commit to this.
“I followed her around a couple of street corners and then was like: what are you doing?

Jamie also told the publication that he is “not proud of myself” following his stalking.
However, the star argued he “honestly think I learned something from it, because I’ve obviously never done any of that”.
He recalled how it was “intriguing and interesting” to enter that process of thinking as a serial killer may think.
Jame said thoughts were as follows, “what are you following her for?” and “what are you trying to find out?”.

In 2017, Jamie chatted about visiting a sex dungeon as part of the research for the movie trilogy 50 Shades of Grey.
The Irish actor said: “It was like nothing I’d experienced before.
“I’d never seen any form of S&M before this, I had no interest in that world… it doesn’t float my boat.”
Hinting at his own bedroom preferences, the star continued to GQ Australia: “I’ve always been open-minded and liberal – I’d never judge anyone’s sexual preference.”
He continued: “Whatever gets people off is entirely up to them and there’s a million different ways to please yourself, sexually.”
The first film in 2015 was one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, but despite the commercial success, many claimed it made light of domestic abuse.
“I always knew people would have a lot of opinions about it, and as much as it has 100 million fans, there’s a lot of people who aren’t into it and are very vocal about that,” Jamie added to the mag.
