Jeremy Clarkson to release new farming book after success of Clarkson's Farm

Jeremy Clarkson has announced a huge new career move after his Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm proved a smash hit.

The Grand Tour presenter has written a book about life on his new farm, based on his popular TV programme.

Jeremy announced the news on his social media, posting a snapshot of the book’s front cover on Instagram as he promised it would be released in hardback and eBook on November 11 this year.

Entitled Diddly Squat – a Year on the Farm, the cover features a cartoon Jeremy in all his farming gear – from a flat-cap down to Wellington boots – leaning against a red tractor which is markedly smaller than the beast he drives on the show.

Writing alongside the post, Jeremy penned: “I’ve done a thing.”

The official synopsis of the book reads: “Welcome to Jeremy’s farm. It’s an idyllic spot, offering picturesque views across the Cotswolds, bustling hedgerows, woodlands and natural springs.

“Jeremy always liked the idea of being a farmer. But, while he was barrelling around the world having more fun with cars than was entirely reasonable, it seemed obvious that the actual, you know, farming was much better left to someone else.”

The book promises all the fan favourite cast members from the show are likely to pop up, including Kaleb, Jeremy’s girlfriend Lisa, “Cheerful Charlie”, and head of security Gerald.

Clarkson’s Farm has proved a huge success

It is set to be published by Penguin Books and will be 224 pages long.

Penguin promise the book will be a “gorgeously illustrated new collection of columns”, in which Jeremy “tells the story of how he traded in fast cars and city living for a new life in the country”.

And Jeremy added: “I love writing about farming, but I love doing it even more.”

He has spoken about his ‘love’ of farming in the past

Book editor and publishing director Rowland White added: “Time will tell whether or not Jeremy becomes a great farmer. Fortunately, he’s always been a great writer.”

His fans have already come out in support of the new volume, with one writing on social media: “Love this cover!”

“’Tremendous tractors’ by Jeremy Clarkson,” another joked, as a third fan posted: “Guess the Lambo [tractor] was too big for the cover!”

“That tractor is too small!” another wailed.

It’s far from the first book Jeremy will have penned, as in between his stints as presenter on shows like The Grand Tour, Top Gear and Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, he has also published more than 10 books in his career so far.
