Kate Garraway says her and husband Derek Draper “might have to sort of fall in love again.”
The Mirror reports that in her new documentary ‘Finding Derek’ Kate said the difficult time may have changed their relationship forever but that “he is still that person that you love.”
The Good Morning Britain presenter said: “We started filming this when I didn’t know if he would live the day… so I’ve got so much to be grateful for and so much to hope for. But God, there is a long way to go.
“He is still that person that you love, but he will behave differently, and he will be physically different.
“It will be very tough for us both. But he is Derek, for better or for worse.
“It may be a rather beautiful thing, I’m trying to look at as a rather beautiful thing. I feel as though we might have to sort of fall in love again.”
The couple tied the knot in 2005, and share two children together, Darcey, 15, and Billy, 11.
Last year, saw the couple reunited live on TV when Kate left the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here jungle.
Despite the difficulties they have faced their love is still as strong as ever and viewers will see Kate’s continued devotion throughout his illness.
At one point in the documentary, Derek tells her “I love you forever and a day”.
