Katie Price has given a devastating update on her mum Amy Price’s lung condition, saying she now only has 32% of her lung capacity left.
Mum-of-five Katie, 42, revealed that her 66-year-old mum Amy had been diagnosed with a lung condition called idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017, and the pair spoke openly on daytime talk shows such as This Morning and Loose Women about the difficult news at the time.
The former glamour model struggled to come to terms with her mum’s terminal diagnosis, but Amy continues to fight the condition, which leads to scarring and difficulty breathing every day.
Sadly, Amy hasn’t been able to spend her days with her daughter or grandchildren Harvey, Junior, Princess, Jett or Bunny since the last two lockdowns began, as she is classed as within the vulnerable category and has been shielding.
Appearing on BBC Northern Ireland’s Nolan Live, reality TV star Katie told host Stephen Nolan that her mum is struggling to breathe now, and she’s frustrated with the “cruel” condition that is gradually taking her mum from her.

“My mum doesn’t smoke, she’s always been so healthy and she’s got this incurable lung disease and there’s nothing you can do,” Katie said.
“So the British Lung Foundation, she got us in touch with them to talk to other people and they just said ‘Build memories, take lots of pictures’ and that’s all you can do really.
“What else can you do, you know it’s coming,” the star went on.

Katie admitted that her mum’s deterioration has made the reality of the condition “hit home again”, as Amy is now on oxygen struggling to breathe.
Noting the difference between having 32% of your lung capacity and 100% would be “awful”, Katie repeated it’s “an awful way to go”.
“It’s horrible to see my mum go through it because she’s so active, it’s cruel,” the businesswoman added.
The reality starlet went on to talk about her “planned suicide attempt” when she hit rock bottom last year.
Katie finally realised she needed help to deal with her mental health struggles and checked in to The Priory rehab centre before the coronavirus pandemic swept the world.
This week, Katie’s mum also appeared on Good Morning Britain to share the latest on her health with presenters Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid and viewers at home.
The guest explained she only has a couple more years to live, but despite that she is trying to stay positive and is hopeful there could be a chance she can get on the transplant list for new lungs.
“There’s nothing else they can do for me really, it’s just palliative care keeping me comfortable,” she told the hosts.
