Katie Price’s ex husband Alex Reid has been jailed for eight weeks after attempting to con a car insurance firm out of £61,000.
London’s High Court heard how the former Celebrity Big Brother winner “knowingly giving a false statement”.
On Wednesday, Aril 21 he was found guilty by contempt of court.
Reid is set to be released after four week on license.
Justice Eady said the cage fighter made “a deliberate falsehood in which the defendant stood to make significant financial gain.”
Reid’s Audi A6 was involved in a car crash with a Seat Leon prompting him to initiate a claim.

He said that a ‘stranger on a motorbike’ offered to be a witness following the incident on the A41 in 2018.
However, Axa insurance who insured the other driver claimed Alex knew the man named Darren Summers.
They argued in court that he was not a stranger and that Reid knew kick-boxer Summers as he had trained his for his first fight together.

Reid’s lawyer Gary Pons argued that he should be spared jail on the grounds he is “kind, caring and loving”.
Reid described him as “an individual who has made mistakes, but whose intentions are always good”.
While he was a cage fighter before meeting his ex Katie Price, it was their relationship which really turned Reid into a household name.
The couple started dating in 2009 before a brief break while Katie was in the I’m A Celeb jungle that year.
In early 2010 the duo shocked the nation by tying the knot during an intimate wedding in Las Vegas.
Within a year the marriage was over.
Alex is currently set to become a father after his partner Nikki Manashe confirmed she is expecting.
