Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kylie Jenner has been accused of blackfishing after posting a video to Instagram in which fans believe she is wearing a foundation for a skin tone darker than her own.
Blackfishing has been in the news recently surrounding Jesy Nelson and her new track Boyz – and fans have been quick to ask why Jesy is called out when Kylie often escapes criticism.
Kylie’s video, posted on her Instagram account which has 277million followers, received praise and adoration from fans and celeb pals yet some focused more on her makeup.
The video shows 24-year-old Kylie listening to American singer Don Toliver’s new track Smoke whilst in her car, wearing a black tight-fit dress and showing off her baby bump.

Some fans commented on the post – believing that the reality star is wearing a shade of foundation which is designed for people with darker skin.
Blackfishing is when a white person alters or adapts how they look, using makeup or tanning, to present their skin tone as darker than it naturally is and can also sometimes involve them appropriating black culture.
One shared the post and wrote: “So y’all get mad at that Jesy Nelson girl for blackfishing but nobody says anything when it comes to Kylie? I’m just confused.”

Whilst another added: “How many times we gotta reiterate that the Jenner daughters are just white. Mayo white. Not a bit of ethnic white.
“Kylie’s blackfishing is even more egregious because she as white as white can be.”
A third tweeted: “I recognise [makeup brand] Fenty [shade] 420 anywhere!!!”
This is not the first time Kylie has caused a storm online over blackfishing allegations as just last week she made the decision to ditch the filters and full glam makeup in Disneyland with Mum Kris.
Though it seems the au natural look has not lasted very long on Kylie given the surge in online criticism.

Online criticism had previously been directed at Kylie and her supermodel sister Kendall after the pair were accused of wearing too much tan at Kourtney Kardashian’s lush engagement party.
Last year Kylie came under fire for a post showing her posing in a green animal print inspired look when fans accused her of copying superstar Beyoncé.
In the midst of the recent Jesy Nelson blackfishing controversy, Nick Minaj aimed attention at Kylie Jenner and the Kardashians while defending her singing pal.
She said: “Black people get on this s*** every day and praise Kylie Jenner and Kim and all the girls in their family.
“And if you pull up a before and after of Kylie, her shade is probably like 20 shades darker from how she looked as a kid. She has bigger lips now. She hangs out with Black people. Is she blackfishing? No…”
