Liam Payne seen with longer hair as he steps out for the first time in months

Liam Payne has been photographed looking completely different, with a longer, shaggy hairstyle after he was seen for the first time in months.

It seems the former One Direction hunk is just like the rest of the British population and will be looking forward to hairdressers opening up again on Monday, as the country continues with its gradual lockdown exit.

The singer was snapped as he arrived for rehearsals for this weekend’s BAFTAs performance, but he was almost unrecognisable when compared to his previous looks, which have seen him with smarter, cropped hair and a sleek clothing style.

Liam, 27, wore his longer locks in their natural shaggy style, framing his face as he got himself ready to rehearse for his award show performance.

He had short facial hair rather than his often clean shaven look fans are more used to.

He wore a white t-shirt which showed off his extensive tattoo collection and clung to his muscular chest, while he wore black jeans on his lower half.

Fans have been left surprised by his new look, with many left in awe – in a good way – over his transformation.

Taking to Twitter, one said: “I’m crying over how good the [One Direction] boys look right now. Long hair supremacy.”

Another wrote: “Your hair is amazing I loved it.”

A third tweeted: “I really do like Liam Payne and his long hair.”

And someone else added: “I just want to tell you, never cut your hair because it looks beautiful on you and I love you very much.”

However others are wanting a return to the norm, as one said: “Cut your hair Liam.”

Another joked: “Liam Payne with long hair = Jesus.”

Meanwhile, some have noted that the hairstyle is a bit of a throwback to how he used to have his mop back in the early days of One Direction.

When he was first finding fame alongside Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik, Liam sported a shaggy look with a floppy fringe across his forehead.

But in recent year he’s had a much more coiffed style, with his hair cut shorter.

This week, Liam announced that he would be giving a real-time augmented reality performance for the 2021 BAFTAs.

He has teamed up with EE, who will help him perform some of his hits in 3D on mobile phones across the country.

The virtual version of Liam will even join the real life performer as a hologram on the stage at the Royal Albert Hall.
