Line of Duty fans convinced ‘H’ identity is fake after spotting blunder in show

Line of Duty fans refuse to believe the ‘H’ revelation in last night’s finale of Line of Duty is real.

The long-awaited episode saw the mystery character be unmasked as the Fourth Man but fans are not convinced.

They took to Twitter to voice their own theories, suggesting there will be another series of the show with a deeper mystery still to be solved.

H was unmasked to be DS Ian Buckells but viewers remember a vital scene from a previous episode that could counteract the revelation.

One viewer tweeted: “ermmm there’s got to be another series…. Buckells can’t be H?? He’s a puppet not a top dog?!?!”

“Buckells was really H, why was he shaking in prison, why did they bring Lakewell into him to show him what happens to rats, sorry I’m not buying that he is really H, series 7 is coming in my book,” said another.

“I have just been thinking Buckells is not really H he is just taking the rap as he knows AC12 is no more and the corruption can carry on,” wrote a third.

A fourth chimed in: “There must be someone else above H.”

A fifth argued: “These OCGS are using Buckells as a decoy to create something bigger #LineofDutyFinale #LineOfDuty.”

Fans questioned whether Buckells could be ‘H’ after his severe reaction to seeing one of the OCG kill a fellow ‘H’ member.

Back in episode four, Lee Banks killed Lakeside in prison in front of Ian telling him “Now you watch what happens to a rat”.

Buckell’s severe reaction in the scene convinced several viewers that he could not be the head honcho in charge.

Some fans have suggested that Buckells was instead just a middle man for Chief Constable of Central Police Philip Osborne.

One fan offered: “Osbourne was the last man! Buckles was passing on messages, that’s it. Osbourne was the one promoting him all the time. Everyone including Carmichael knew there was nothing they could do because he’s so high up #LineOfDuty #LineofDutyFinale.”
