Little Mix could have just added fuel to the fire of their rumoured impending split with the track-listing of their new album.
The trio – made up of Perrie Edwards, 28, Jade Thirlwall, 28, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 30 – have just released their greatest hits album Between Us.
The album includes all of the group’s biggest songs, including the likes of Shout Out to My Ex, Touch, Wings, Sweet Melody and DNA.
But the deluxe version of the album ends on the song Wasabi, taken from 2018 release LM5, which is also included on Jade’s picture disc as a bonus track.
The song, which was released when Jesy Nelson, 30, was still a member of Little Mix, is about the girls standing up to naysayers and what they say about them.
However they could be preparing fans for the beginning of the end by including Wasabi at the end of the album, because of its lyrics.
It ends with Jesy singing: “‘When she goin’ solo?’ / ‘I bet they gonna break up’ / But what the hell do you know?”
Why did Jesy Nelson leave Little Mix?
Jesy quit the group in late 2020 because of her struggle with her mental health, which came from being part of a girl band.
She launched her solo career earlier this year with her debut track Boyz, which features rapper Nicki Minaj.
Since then, the group has been plagued by split rumours, with reports suggesting they are all working on solo deals.
One of their brand new songs, Between Us, is an emotional banger that the girls have admitted makes them cry.
It tells of their journey, with lyrics including: “Like, damn, we got history, shared every misery, lived every victory, yeah, we got synergy, if they hurt you, they hurting me, that’s just the way it be.
“We walked through the fire and as the flames got higher it made us survivors, yeah it made us fighters, fighters.”
Fans began speculating that it could be their goodbye song, after they shot to fame when they won The X Factor in 2011.
Are Little Mix splitting up?
A source recently told The Sun: “There has been a lot of speculation about the future of Little Mix but it is now very clear that the end of the road has been reached. A date is set to announce the split. The upcoming tour is going to be a farewell to their fans.”
Meanwhile, Perrie, Jade and Leigh-Anne have been embroiled in a bit of a feud with their former band member Jesy.
Speaking on The Graham Norton Show in October, Jesy said: “We’re not talking anymore.
“I know it’s sad but, honestly, there is no bad blood from my side and I still love them to pieces. I just wish them all the best, genuinely.”
