It wasn’t that long ago Little Mix fans were shocked by the news that the band were becoming a trio, after Jesy Nelson announced she was quitting.
And for at least a few seconds this morning, it seemed like the girl group was debuting a new member.
A technical mix-up on BBC Brekafast saw Jade Thirlwall disappear from the screen during their chat to be replaced by a maths teacher – the brilliantly named Bobby Seagull.
The girls were talking on Zoom to presenter Sally Nugent when the swap took place.
After the interview, Sally said: “I don’t know if any of you noticed, but for a short time there Little Mix did have a new member.”
“Did you notice that? Mr Bobby Seagull popped up at one point in the middle of Little Mix,” she exclaimed.
BBC Breakfast co-host Ben Thompson asked the maths whizz: “Bobby, how much would you love to be the latest member of Little Mix?”
Seagull replied: “Bring in someone who loves numbers as well… Little Mix, I’m here!”
He was on the show to talk about World Password Day.
Little Mix fans were quick to spot the mistake, tweeting asking what happened.
Bobby joked on Twitter: “That feeling when you accidentally become the latest member of Little Mix on BBC Breakfast. I’m ready and waiting for my Little Mix call up if they need a geek quizzy maths teacher!”
He replied to a fan too, saying: “I’m gonna go and get some singing lessons to audition for Little Mix.”
It’s been a big week for the band, after Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 29, revealed she is pregnant with her first child.
She shared the happy news and said she is “on cloud nine” to be expecting a baby with her footballer fiancé Andre Gray.
Jesy Nelson has also talked about why she left the chart-topping girl band.
In a new interview with Cosmopolitan, Nelson revealed she “can’t believe” how “miserable” she was during her time in Little Mix.

She said: “I didn’t know that I could be this happy.”
“Since I’ve left, I feel free. I don’t wake up with anxiety, thinking, ‘I’ve got to do a music video today, I need to starve myself.’ Or, ‘I need to go on an extreme diet so I can look like the other three.’ That was consuming me.”
She also admitted constantly comparing herself to the rest of the band.
