Loose Women stars have paid tribute to Ruth Langsford as she prepares to return to This Morning with husband Eamonn Holmes.
Ruth’s colleagues prepared a special gift to see her off which included video montage of her “best bits”.
Denise Welch introduced the footage, saying: “I think we would all feel very guilty if we didn’t remind the viewers that Ruth, of course, is leaving us for the summer to go next door to join her darling husband and do her summer of This Morning.
“So we thought we would give you a little surprise and show you your Ruth’s best bits.”
A clip was then played of Ruth’s antics from Loose Women thus far and the anchor could be seen enjoying the footage of her having fun with the ladies.
Opening up to viewers at home, Ruth confirmed: “I’m not leaving , because normally when you do a best bits everyone goes, ‘Thank you, it’s been lovely working with you.’
“I’m going next door, Eamonn and I will be on This Morning for about six weeks then I will be back.
“But I’ll be talking to you all every day because we do the handovers!”
Ruth and Eamon hosted their This Morning segment for 14 years together before being replaced with Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond in January this year.
While speaking to OK! Magazine about her return,Ruth said: “We’ll be doing seven weeks from July. I’m looking forward to it.”
While things between Ruth, Eamonn and This Morning appear to be going well after the breakup with their coming return, it was reported previously that they were surprised to be replaced.
A source at The Sun on Sunday said: “Ruth and Eamonn are obviously upset and feel humiliated about being put out to pasture.
“But they’ve been advised to keep schtum or risk losing more work.
“It could damage their brand if they lash out.”
Regular hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby will be replaced by Ruth and Eamonn over the summer as usual.
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
