Saira Khan has revealed that she wants her Loose Women replacement to be a “gay, transgender or non-binary” person after putting the ITV show.
The 50-year-old former Apprentice candidate made the announcement that she was leaving the programme after five years on Saturday.
She logged into her Instagram on Sunday to speak further about her decision to move on, as well as share her thoughts on who she’d like to see replace her on the all-female panel.
Sharing a snap of herself on the front of magazine cover, the mother of two penned: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. “So for me change comes at the beginning of 2021 by leaving a familiar seat on @loosewomen .

“It wasn’t an easy decision, but one that I needed to make in order to grow myself in other ways.”
She continued: “I came to the show a troubled soul and I will eternally be grateful for the platform @loosewomen gave me to share, speak up and out.
“I will miss the great women who have become my very close friends. I feel honoured and privileged to have sat alongside them and learnt from them.
‘I leave the show feeling I’ve dealt with the baggage and now can enjoy moving forward to grow and enjoy new life opportunities, which includes growing my skincare business @sairaskinuk and exploring other media projects.
‘I’d love my @loosewomen seat to be given to either a gay, transgender or non-binary person – that will help the show to be more reflective of the world we live in. That’s what I would do if I was in charge.
“I don’t like formal goodbyes, so I won’t be on the show to look back at my “best bits”. That’s not how I want to say goodbye…
She ended the lengthy caption: “@loosewomen it was an honour and a privilege to be part of this iconic show of strong, talented, fiesty, honest, opinionated , caring, loving women.
“Thanks for the opportunities and everlasting friendship and memories.
“Thank you to the amazing audience who have watched and supported me, and now follow me here. You have given me so much love and self confidence, more than you will ever know.’
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’ve helped shape me, to become the woman I want to be, moving forward. Thank you.’
Saira explained her “difficult decision” in her column for The Mirror, saying the coronavirus pandemic made her “teases her priorities”.
Her decision to quit Loose Women comes just weeks after co-star Andrea McLean left the show.
Saira joined the hit ITV show in 2015, prior to this she had finished as a runner-up on the first series of The Apprentice back in 2005.
