Lorraine Kelly accidently called actor Kieran Culkin ‘awful’ during their interview on her ITV daytime talk show.
She was talking to the Succession actor about series three of the hit show when she made the comment, which was intended to describe Kieran’s character and not Kieran himself.
Kieran plays Roman Roy, the rich son of Media mogul Logan Roy in Succession, played by acting legend Brian Cox.
Talking about the programme, Lorraine then said, “I just love it so much. Everybody’s horrid. Everybody’s awful – you’re awful.”
However, Kieran saw the funny side and jokingly hit back at Lorraine, leaving her in tears of laughter.
Keiran replied jokingly saying, “Oh thank you, that’s really nice to hear.
“Thanks for bringing me on your show and berating me, this is really nice. A nice morning I’m having.”
Lorraine went red faced with embarrassment laughing, quickly referring to Kieran’s character as awful, saying “He’s the most awful person though isn’t he?”
“Yeah I suppose, I guess they all are,” said Kieran.
Talking about his character, Kieran added, “I can’t look at it that way, because I don’t think he would see himself that way.”
“Oh he absolutely does not.” said Lorraine.
HBO comedy drama series Succession follows the lives of the Logan family, after their father steps down as the head of one of the world’s biggest entertainment and media companies.
It stars Brian Cox as head of the family, alongside actors including Alan Ruck, Matthew Macfayden and Sarah Snook.
“They’re all a very odd family. I mean there’s the fantastic Brian Cox, and he is so mean and so twisted.”
At the beginning of the interview, she told viewers, “If you haven’t seen Succession, the third series is on now. If you’re quick you can watch one and two, then catch up with three.”
During the interview, Lorraine and Kieran, who is the brother of Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin, also discussed parenthood, with Kieran talking about his new baby and wife.
Lorraine airs weekdays at 8am on ITV.
