Lorraine Kelly viewers harshly trolled Ranvir Singh as she stepped in for the star while Lorraine is off for the Easter break.
GMB newsreader Ranvir, who recently starred in Strictly Come Dancing, took to Lorraine’s chair this morning looking suave in a checked monochrome blazer.
It wasn’t long however before viewers began critiquing her presenting and trolling her for “trying to replace” Piers Morgan on TV.
Piers left his ITV gig hosting Good Morning Britain last month suddenly after over 41,000 people complained to Ofcom about his remarks about Meghan Markle at the height of the talk surrounding her Oprah Winfrey interview with Prince Harry.
Viewers rushed to Twitter to voice how they feel Ranvir is “replacing” Piers by giving guests a grilling.
One tweeted: “All of a sudden ranvir is everywhere @GMB on Lorraine now to.. bring @piersmorgan back it’s so boring without him.”
“I don’t watch ITV without Piers Morgan anymore,” tweeted another.
Much like Piers, viewers also criticised the journalist for “talking over” her guests on to interview.
“@ITV Ranvir presenting Lorraine’s show is the worst presenter / interviewer I have ever watched on television: Her closed questions, Interrupting interviewees, providing answers, talking over people and talking too much is painful to watch. Your complaints impossible to find,” tweeted one.
“@lorraine Ranvir Singh- talks over guests, asks 3 questions in 1. Dreadful host,” said another.
Ranvir also received lots of love from her adoring fans who tuned in to catch her hosting the show as she stepped away from politics and the ballroom dance floor.
A fan wrote: “@ranvir01 Ranvir baby, you absolutely make my morning when you’re on @lorraine. An absolute joy to watch. And that suit today was,” followed by the fire emoji.

It comes as Lorraine is enjoying time off work and like most of us, rushed to the pubs to celebrate being out of lockdown in the UK.
Lorraine took to her social media earlier in the week to upload a sweet video of herself and her daughter downing shots at the pub.
