Love Island 2021 to be 'extra raunchy' as sex hungry cast go wild after lockdown

Love Island star Olivia Attwood reckons the new series could be the raunchiest yet – as sex-starved singles make up for time lost in lockdown.

Olivia took part in the 2017 run – one of the steamiest so far – and finished in third place with ex Chris Hughes.

And with Love Island expected to start on June 28, the Cheshire-based beauty reckons 18 months in lockdown could see this year’s contestants have more sex than ever.

“It’s possible they will be more wild,” she told the Daily Star.

“We’ve all been locked up and everyone is looking to blow off some steam – in general this could be a really good summer to be single and enjoying yourself.

“It’ll be good for the viewers if Love Island goes that way.

“The new series will be the perfect escapism from everything that is going on in the world at the moment and provide some light relief.

“I’ve really missed it because it hasn’t been on for so long. It was weird watching it in 2018 because it felt like seeing other people in your house, but I’m excited to watch it as a fan again this year.”

While Olivia and Chris were popular with viewers, the pair often warred on screen and their relationship lasted only seven months.

Chris then went on to date former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson.

But despite the public screaming matches with her ex, Olivia is still happy about her time on the show.

She says: “I don’t regret anything I did while I was in there.

“I had a lot of fun, even though it looked like all I did was scream and shout. I have good memories and we laughed a lot.

“I’ve matured, so there’s things I did four years ago that I wouldn’t necessarily do now, but whatever I did do was good TV and I’ve had a good career from it.”

Olivia has since gone on to find love with her fiancé, Blackburn Rovers footballer Bradley Dack.

But she reveals she “annoys” him by talking about going back to the villa if there was ever a version with returning stars.

Olivia says: “If they ever did an all-stars series of Love Island I would be so jealous.

“Brad gets so annoyed when I bring it up, but I know I can’t do it as I’m engaged.

“I’d love to go back in there as somebody who isn’t single and not have to be involved in the dating side of it, just to experience the villa again because it is so much fun.”

The couple were hoping to get married this summer, but have just pushed back their wedding to next year due to the ongoing coronavirus restrictions.

“It has been challenging,” says Olivia. “But Bradley and I made the call because everything kept changing, we decided to push it back so we can have the wedding we want without having to work around rule changes.”

Olivia turned 30 last month and hitting this milestone gave her time to reflect on the relationships she had over the last decade.

She says: “I made a lot of mistakes during my twenties. All my relationships have been so different, but one thing I’ve realised getting older is that you have to put work into them and there’s no getting away from that.

“But they shouldn’t be so challenging that every day is difficult. With me and Brad it’s easy, but I’ve looked back on when I was younger and all the time I spent arguing with boyfriends that weren’t right for me.

“I used to meet people and fall in love with them straight away, jumping from relationship to relationship, but I now see all of this as life experience that you learn from.”

Olivia admits she used to “dread” the idea of turning 30, adding: “It felt like the end of the world, because we are programmed to believe that our twenties are everything and life gets boring after that.

“But I’m happier now than I ever have been in my adult life. I know who I am, I have a great job and partner, and don’t see my life slowing down any time soon.”

Liv has remained super popular since appearing on Love Island

As well as her ITV reality show Olivia Meets Her Match, the TV personality hopes to get the chance to do other shows such as Dancing On Ice and Strictly.

And after being diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, she would also like to raise awareness of the condition.

“There’s things I’m exploring, but I’d really love the chance to do a reality show where you learn a skill,” says Olivia.

“Something like Dancing On Ice, Strictly or I’m A Celeb would be great as I’d really be able to challenge myself.

“If I ever got the opportunity I’d definitely say yes, as you have to grab those kinds of opportunities with both hands.

“I’m not sure what it would be yet, but I’d like to do something about raising awareness of ADHD, especially as there’s been a lot out there recently about how it presents in women.

“I touch on it in my show briefly and the reaction to that has been massive.”

Olivia has also been collaborating with fashion companies, having just launched her second collection for Manchester-based clothing brand I Saw It First after signing a reported £500,000 deal with them.

The range includes 35 pieces such as co-ord sets, oversized blazers, summery dresses and sexy swimwear.

Olivia says: “My thought process behind this collection is hopefully for getting out of lockdown and being able to go on things like holidays and girls’ nights out in the future and just be enjoying the summer.

“There’s a lot of colour, it’s fun, some of the pieces are quite daring. There’s something for everyone.”

The I Saw It First x Olivia Attwood collection is available now, with prices ranging from £5 to £35. Visit isawitfirst.com.
