Adam and Cassie’s budding romance quickly fell apart during tonight’s instalment of the sun-soaked reality series Love Island Australia.
And, one remark the Aussie hunk made – concerning her looks – left certain fans of the show raging.
Through a series of painful exchanges, the couple realised their feelings had fizzled and Adam declared they were both in the “friend zone,” which prompted Cassie to break down in tears in the Australian villa.
Seemingly put on the spot by how he felt the day before though, Adam danced around the subject as he said: “You’re not my normal type.”
Love Island Australia saw the drama heat up in episode two as Adam made a serious of blunders with Cassie
Her face falling, Cassie was becoming less and less impressed as Adam carried on his descent into cringe-town.
“You have a great personality and are not a bad-looking girl,” the islander finished, as Cassie was left feeling incredibly underwhelmed.
Angry viewers were fuming with Adam’s handling of the situation, which ended with Cassie sobbing the next day.
One person ranted: “I would just like to say on behalf of women.. If you happen to be around a bunch of girls and your reaction to one of them is: your not bad looking..your basically saying your cute but not sexy as the other females round here & you sir.. Are not all that either #LoveIslandAU.”
Islander Cassie became incredibly upset after her chat with Adam
“Not Adam saying ‘you’re not a bad looking girl’ to Cassie #loveislandau #loveisland,” another posted in shock.
A third fan offered: “Compliments Cassie’s personality and says ‘You’re not a bad looking girl’ what a charmer. Have Adam flirted with women before? #LoveIslandAU.”
While a fourth exclaimed: “Not bad looking girl?? SHE IS BLOODY GORGEOUS. GET YA EYES TESTED MATE! #LoveIslandAU.”
Adam said he thought he and Cassie were in the friendzone
“Ur not a bad looking girl ouchhhh #LoveIslandAU,” a fifth added, followed by: “Don’t dismiss cassie because you don’t see the issue. She feels that issue so LISTEN #LoveIslandAU.”
Others took Adam’s side, as one viewer declared: “Huh? Nowt wrong with what Adam, just said to her.. F**k that s**t, he’s just being honest… #LoveIslandAU #LoveIslandAustralia.”
