Love Island's Jake claims unaired scenes of Liberty split show him in different light

Love Island villain Jake Cornish is slamming the show’s editing after revealing that unaired scenes would have spared him backlash from the public.

During his time in the villa, Jake was accused of playing up to the cameras and not being completely genuine in his relationship with Liberty Poole, something he denied throughout.

The water engineer from Weston-Super-Mare claimed that scenes, which never made it to air, would completely change the public’s perception of him.

In an Instagram Stories Q&A, one fan took the opportunity to ask how Jake felt about the backlash he received from viewers, labelling it “well unfair”.

Answering the question to his 436,000 Instagram followers, Jake claimed that there were scenes that never made it to air that would have allowed viewers to see the situation differently.

Jake posted on Instagram: “If people knew what was said which wasn’t aired I think people would believe differently.”

Jake was accused of being insincere and misleading about his feelings towards then-girlfriend Liberty, who he was coupled up with on the show from day one.

Ultimately, after a difficult few days, the pair agreed to end their relationship, and leave the villa together.

The former flames were briefly reunited on a pre-recorded clip that aired on Love Island’s reunion episode on Sunday.

The clip showed Jake awkwardly tell Liberty he was “too busy” to be in touch or have a relationship.

Jake, however, was absent from the main event because he wasn’t feeling well.

He addressed his absence on Instagram Stories during the Q&A: ‘I’m good thanks, been unwell for the last week but starting to feel much better today.”

Jake was also noticeably absent at Liberty’s recent 22nd birthday bash.

The 24-year-old also shed more light on his time in the villa, with one fan asking: “What do you miss the most about leaving the villa?”

Without mentioning Liberty at all, Jake replied: “I miss all the amazing people in there and the sun definitely.”

The star then boasted about his jam-packed schedule since leaving the villa, claiming that he is busy working on some amazing projects.

“Got so many amazing things in the pipeline, I can’t wait to share it with you all,” said Jake.
