Mark Wright floored by Joey Essex's 'mad' throwback snap of his lookalike dad

TOWIE’s Joey Essex shared a scarily similar looking throwback picture of his dad to mark Father’s Day on Sunday.

Fans and friends couldn’t believe how similar Joey looks to his old man, in the classic snap.

Fellow TOWIE star Mark Wright was among those amazed by the pic and the strong resemblance between the two.

He left a comment pointing out how identical dad Donny looks like Joey, 30, in the pic of him posing in a boxing ring.

Under the old black-and-white pic, Joey was heaping praise on his dad for raising him and being big inspiration for him.

Joey wrote: “I wouldn’t be the man I was today without you Dad. Thanks for teaching me respect, manners and to be brave.

“Happy Father’s Day to all the best dads out there and all the mums being dad.”

TV star Mark left a comment exclaiming: “How this isn’t you is mad. Twins.”

Plenty of Joey’s fans agreed with Mark.

They rushed to reply: “Was just going to say the same!”

“I thought it was him,” another added.

“Wow that first pic could be you, said someone else, while others agreed with Mark writing “twins.”

Some else also agreed with Mark’s comment, calling Joey and Donny “twins”.

As well as the uncanny boxing pic, Joey posted a more recent pic showing off their friendship, and he still looks just like his dad.

They have always been close, since Joey’s mum tragically died when he was just 10-years-old.

Joey stars in a new BBC documentary called Joey Essex on Grief.

In it, he talked openly for the first time about losing his mum when she took her own life when he was young.
