Legendary rocker John Lydon has taken aim at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry and says they are the ones to blame for the royal mess.
The 65-year-old Sex Pistols icon has now hit out at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex following their candid conversation about royal life.
The God Save The Queen hitmaker, known throughout his career as hell-raiser Johnny Rotten, thinks it can only end badly following their tell-all chat with Oprah Winfrey.
Musician John says he doesn’t blame Meghan and Harry for quitting as senior royals last year.
But he believes their bombshell interview did more harm than good and thinks they shouldn’t be shocked that people are not pleased with their comments.
“It seems like petulance when they flutter their wings and cry ‘freedom’ but it’s not,” he said to The Times.
“My advice to them is they should mind their own business too, and if you want out of the public awareness then don’t go on the Oprah show. It can only end badly for you.
“You don’t put your head in the guillotine or the chopping block, dears, because someone will quite happily press that button.
“There’s many a McDonald’s both here and in Britain that are more than willing to take on either one or both of them and then they can be truly independent earning their own money.”
The star is meanwhile threatening to take legal action over a TV series being made about the Sex Pistols.
In an interview with The Sunday Times Magazine, he claimed that the production was being done without his consultation.
It is based on the autobiography of the Sex Pistols’ guitarist Steve Jones and speaking of his exclusion from the process, Lydon said: “If you put me in a corner like a rat, I’m going to go for your throat.
“I’m up against here some corporations that just want to take over.
“Poor old Johnny Rotten is the victim of Mickey Mouse.”
