Dancing on Ice contestant Myleene Klass has revealed that she feels embarrassed about her recent injury because “it’s not sexy” and makes her feel like a “Nanna”.
The 42-year-old musician has torn cartilage in her knee just days before she’s due to take to the ice in front of the nation with skating partner Lukasz Rozycki.
Former Hear’Say band member Myleene took part in Sunday’s group skate but has yet to perform her first solo routine with her partner Lukasz.
Making light of her knee injury, the mother of three joked: “I just feel almost embarrassed with my injury because it’s not a very sexy injury and I feel like a Nanna.
“It’s very painful but not very sexy when you say your knees have gone.”

She explained: “I’m quite stable on land, and I can do my turns and I can get my counts to the music, but when you remove the land and replace it with very slippery surface it does all manner of things to your joints.
“I thought this was going to make me feel like I was 16 again but it’s making me feel like I’m a 116.”
Myleene, who has been in a relationship with fiancé Simon Motson since 2015, is a big fan of the ITV skating show but admits that being part of it is a completely different ball game.
“I’ve watched the show in the past but I just didn’t realise how technical a lift is,” the former I’m A Celebrity star said.

“I thought doing lifts would be easy but it turns out I have to push down, use my core and everything else.
“Lukasz feels like a human tea bag because I’ve kicked him in the shin so many times.”
“I used to watch the show and think that’s pretty but technicals I really appreciate now.”
As well as taking part in the intense training sessions, Myleene has been homeschooling her daughters Ava and Hero, from her previous marriage to Graham Quinn.

The TV personality has revealed that the show has come at right time for that she’d rather take on dangerous lifts then deal with maths lessons.
She said: “I can not lie from a psychological point of view as a mum I’ve got two children homeschooling, a toddler and two step-children so it is a lot.
“My children are asking me about fronted adverbials, and I would literally rather go on the ice and do the headbanger than take on fractions.”

“Dancing on Ice couldn’t have come at a better time because of the relief it provides. I think everybody just needs the pressure turned down a bit.”
Myleene went on to reveal that as a fan of the show she prefers to watch contestants grow in the competition.
She said: “I don’t want to see everyone being brilliant otherwise I would switch on the Olympics.
“I want see people struggling then getting up again with a bit of glitter on top.”
Dancing on Ice host Holly Willoughby recently revealed that she thinks Myleene could win the whole competition.
Reacting to the This Morning presenter’s prediction, Myleene said: “Holly is so lovely and she’s a mum so I think she’s just being really nice and cheering for the underdog.
“It’s what us mums do. I think she probably felt for me with all the homeschooling conditions that are going on at the minute.”
Dancing on Ice continues on ITV on Sunday at 6pm
