Rainbow Freddy and Jane's 30-year romance which sparked love triangle drama

Jane Tucker and Freddy Marks are most famously known as being part of the musical trio that entertained children across the country on Rainbow.

The entertaining British TV show that ran ran from 12 November 1972 until 31 December 1992 had a variety of hosts who presented the show throughout the years.

But long serving cast members Freddy Marks, Jane Tucker and Rod Burton graced audiences across Britain from late 1970s to the 1990s.

Along with Rainbow and their spin off TV show which ended in 1991, Rod, Jane and Freddy toured the UK and released a number of videos and singles during the late 80s and early 90s.

Jane Tucker who played an integral part in the musical trio, was previously married to her co-host Rod Burton.

But after the couple divorced Freddy and Jane began a romantic relationship that spanned for approximately 31 years.

In May 2016, the couple decided to finally tie the knot at London’s luxury Claridge’s hotel.

Despite this, the couple’s romance previously made headlines as many were confused with the fact that Jane had previously been married to other bandmate Rod.

Many fans and also the press believed that there may have been a love triangle that took place between the trio.

However, while appearing on panel show 50 Ways To Leave Your TV Lover in 2013, blonde beauty Jane seemed to play down the rumours of an alleged affair.

While appearing alongside her husband Freddy, Jane expressed: “Rod and I were married and then we got divorced.

“That’s it basically. Some years later when Freddy joined, Freddy and I hooked up together.”

Freddy who also appeared on the show added: “Rod and Jane had been divorced long before I actually joined the series.

“So with all the will in the world it was very difficult to make a manage a trois out of something that didn’t exist.”

In more recent times, the couple appeared together on Pointless Celebrities. Their episode was aired on BBC One in February.

On Thursday May, 28 2021, news broke that Freddy Marks had passed away.

His cause of death has not yet been revealed.
