Seema Malhotra has revealed that she is ready for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! following her year from hell.
The Real Housewives of Cheshire star is no stranger to throwing herself in at the deep end, often facing gruelling challenges with her glamourous co-stars and I’m A Celeb is her ideal challenge.
Seema, 50, bravely opened up to us about her breast cancer scare after a scan on her stomach picked up a lump in her breast, instantly sparking panic.
Further investigations revealed that her lump was benign and not cancerous but this has added a spring to her step.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, about appearing on I’m A Celeb, she revealed: “I could, after what I’ve just been through, I’ve set myself a little bucket list that I want to do.
“I want to live life to the fullest, even though I’d be petrified of everything, I just want to give it a shot, I want to say ‘Seema did this’, I’d 100 per cent do it.”
The Forever Unique businesswoman continued: “Before I’d have chickened out, I’d be like ‘oh God no, I can’t do that, I’m scared of water, I’m scared of heights’, but now, after that scare that I had, you really don’t have to be scared of anything.
“You just want to live and breathe and I’m happy with that.”
Discussing her scare, the mum-of-two explained: “I’d gone in for a CT scan of my stomach for my ovaries as I’ve got some ovarian cysts and by chance, it caught the lower half of my breast.
“My cysts were fine, I am going to get my ovaries removed but they’ve hit this lump in my breast and at the time it was horrible.”
Seema added: “Thank God it wasn’t anything serious but if it was, I would have caught it early, it’s so important, if you find a lump, go and get it checked.
“For me, what was an awful time and my story being mapped out on the show, I wanted it to be, either way if it had been a worst-case scenario, I didn’t care.
“I just thought ‘if this helps another person that’s going through something’, it makes you realise your health is your wealth.”
The designer who has dressed stars including Beyoncé revealed that her story had encouraged a woman to go and have a lump checked and was later diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer.
“There was a woman who sent me an email, she said she had a lump in her breast but was too scared to do anything and she did go and get it checked and she did have the early stages of breast cancer but she’s now in the midst of having her treatment,” Seema explained.
She added: “She messages me frequently saying ‘I can’t thank you enough’, I’m glad I talked about it.”
