Susanna Reid was left open-mouthed as Adil Ray brought his mum and dad’s sex life into the conversation on Monday.
Poor Susanna was left lost for words after admitting that she didn’t realise it was her co-star’s birthday today.
The Good Morning Britain host, 50, apologised to Adil when she found out he had turned 47.
She confessed that the GMB crew had forgotten to get him a cake as he was left embarrassed about the whole thing.
The star then went onto become even more red-faced.
Charlotte Hawkins started it off: “Birthday messages are coming in as well. Happy Birthday Adil.”
Clearly unaware, it was a special day Susanna quickly responded: “What? You kept that quiet.”
Adil turned things awkward with a brilliant reply.
“Well yeah,” he said. “I’m very glad my mum and dad had sex.”
Susanna didn’t know what to do with herself, looked at the camera open-mouthed before she burst out laughing.
“Yup, sorry we didn’t get you a cake,” Susanna said, sheepishly. “I had absolutely no idea.”
She then turned the tables and Susanna responded: “Hurtling towards 50. Not as soon as I did.”
Adil, desperate to change the subject, then said: “Lets not talk about it anymore. Thanks for that Charlotte.”
“Where would you rather be on your birthday? What a lovely place to celebrate,” Charlotte said.
Earlier in the show, Dr Hilary Jones opened up about the call Kate Garraway had made to him last year after husband Derek Draper contracted Covid-19.
He said: “I thought it would be better to speak to the person themselves to gage what was going on. Kate was clearly uncertain as to what to do next.
“She was being stoical. They’d talked about it, they’d made some decisions; he was sleeping in his own bedroom to isolate from the rest of the family and she was unsure as to the next step to take.
“So I said, ‘Let me speak to Derek’. She passed the phone to Derek and I could hear how breathless he was – I told him to hold his breath to see how long he could do that for and how he felt, generally. He could hold his breath for eight seconds.
“At that moment, and looking at the history, until that point, I knew that he needed to go into hospital.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
